NCC (NATIONAL CADET CORPS)
NCC - National Cadet Corps – Army Wing (Boys) In charge: Thiru B.Padmanaban, Lieutenant, Lect/Plastic. NCC Army wing was established in 1969 under 28 (TN) BN NCC Army wing, Virudhunagar. The total number of Cadets is 100. The unit is conducting ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate examination regularly for the cadets. This enables the cadets to pursue their career in any of the armed forces as officer through short service commission directly.
The cadets are participating in the Republic Day Camp (RDC), Basic Leadership Camp (BLC), National Integration Camp (NIC), and Annual Training Camp and combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) apart from their regular activities. Activities like Blood Donation, Awareness rally’s, Firing, Obstacle Training, Cycle Expedition, Mountaineering and free medical Camps are conducted. Award of medal for the best NCC cadet is given on every year from Major S.G.Kasirajan – Kalavathy Endowment fund. The NCC Day is being celebrated every year.
Our Institution is unique in the sense that has its own large ground equipped with separate Standard Obstacle Training Area for NCC training. In which the obstacles includes 6-feet wall, zig zag, double ditch, balancing, 3-feet bar, left bar, right bar, and incline bar. Here we are making our cadets physically and mentally tough.
Our aim is to develop qualities of character, courage, commandership,discipline and secure outlook, spirit of adventure, and sportsmanship among the youth to make them useful citizens.
